Down Syndrome Support Team

The Down Syndrome Support Team (DSST) exists to:

• Provide support to the families in our group
• Share our knowledge and experiences
• Build lasting friendships
• Raise awareness and acceptance in our local community.

We meet every other month to network our ideas, discuss issues we may be facing and let our children play.  We welcome all parents of children with Down syndrome.

In addition to our monthly meetings we have a playgroups, outings, Mom's Night Out, Couples Night Out, and this year sponsored a "special needs" Music Together classes for children with Down syndrome.

Annually we host a Family Fun Summer Picnic in June, The Buddy Walk in October and Holiday Celebration in December.

 We also seek to support awareness of Down syndrome in our local communities, providing University of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals with materials for new families.
